I recently got married (September 2018) over in the Provence region of France, in a beautiful little town called Aigueze.

For the wedding, my husband and I decided we would buy all of the wedding crockery ourselves, for 2 reasons:

- It looks beautiful and utterly unique, and completely complimented our setting.

- We are more likely to make our money back, as opposed to hiring crockery which was as equally as expensive as buying everything ourselves.

Over many months we visited antique shops and fairs, car boot sales, charity shops - everywhere and anywhere we saw antique crockery, to create our collection. This was fun, but it was also hugely time consuming and quite stressful - I checked on sell my wedding regularly but all of the job lot sets had sold out, otherwise I would much preferred to have bought in batch. I think you think it will be cheaper/more fun if you buy it all individually, but in hindsight it's really not! Time and effort really are precious when planning a wedding, so use it wisely - that's probably the main lesson I've learnt!
