MrsJMatthews
Jacqui and Christopher were married in Manchester on 29th October 2011 and attempted to keep their wedding simple yet elegant with the main focus being on what the day meant. They stuck with a simple colour theme of gold and royal blue with splashes of pink. There were elements of vintage travel added to reference their upcoming African safari honeymoon.

Mrs Smiler
My husband and I both grew up going to the Lake District camping and it was ideal that we married there too. Our wedding took place on Friday 10 December 2010 (the week we had all that snow) at St Bega’s Church, Lake Bassenthwaite followed by a reception at The Glasshouse restaurant in Ambleside. We stayed at Wyke Bay, a lodge on Lake Windermere for a week before the wedding and then moved to Low Wood Bay hotel where we stayed with our guests for the weekend.
We both loved Christmas, so naturally that became our theme. The dress code was Black Tie and the colour scheme was purple and gold. I wore a bespoke ivory and crystal dress by Ella D. Bridal who also customized my Next shoes and made a hair piece and fur wrap.
The groom’s tuxedo was from Next and the Best Man, Father of the Bride and Father of the Groom revived dinner suits they already had and spruced them up with a new bow tie and shirt, while we hired a tux for our Page Boy, who looked oh so dapper.
The Maid of Honour’s dress and accessories were from Coast and Bibi and the Flowergirl’s dress and accessories were from Debenhams.
Our photographer was Nick White of Nick White Images and he is a photographic genius. He stayed for the whole weekend and took some amazing shots (some of which you can see on this site) and he made our wedding even more magical. In fact, he was so fantastic that a lot of our guests thought he was just a friend taking photos rather than a photographer who became a friend.
We didn’t want to have our Reception at the hotel as we were planning to have a party there the following evening. Instead we looked for a quirky alternative which resulted in us discovering The Glasshouse, which put on the most fabulous buffet and created an amazing party atmosphere – just what we wanted.

We are Selina and Alex and we were married on 13th august 2011. Our wedding theme was colour. We both love it so we wanted as much as possible, we are both also really creative so wanted to make what we could ourselves. Selina is a designer and has done a few wedding stationary packages before for friends and aquaintences, so all the ideas for this have a fun, colourful and modern graphic style running through them. I have made costumes and dresses for about ten years and we decided that we could really get the look we were after at a fraction of the price if I made the dresses - both for the bridesmaid and the bride. A bit of a break from tradition but neither of us are keen on that or superstitious so we just went for it. I designed the dresses based on some patterns and a lot of experimentation but it did mean we could have 5 bridesmaids in the colours we wanted. The other thing we really wanted was a scottish ceilidh as Selina was raised in Scotland and my Dad's side of the family is all Scottish. this meant we needed space which required a lot of decoration. We made hundreds of tissue paper flowers and bought paper lanterns to take the colour into the roof. We hung bunting outside and had tealights in jam jars suspended from the trees. Selina had done a sugarcraft course so we decided to make cupcakes and decorate them in 5 different styles and have a sweet table - all very bright and exciting!

Beccabride
My wedding took place on a cold December day in Harrogate three years ago at Trinity Methodist Church on the Stray. I wore a vintage inspired dress that perfectly fitted the 1930’s ballroom where we had our reception. Our theme was Yorkshire, both being born and bred. The flowers were Yorkshire roses and ivy, the table names were our favourite places in Yorkshire, the sit down dinner was (of course) Roast Beef and Yorkshire Pudding, the favours were bags of Yorkshire Mixture and the evening buffet was a supper of Yorkshire deli delights. Navy, gold and cream were our colours not intentionally planned to match that of my husband's team, Leeds United!

Angel in the North
I caught the wedding bug in 2009 and haven’t been able to shake it off, even though my wedding was done and dusted in 2010. I loved planning my wedding, and blogs were such a source of inspiration. So I established Angel in the North: a wedding and lifestyle blog for Yorkshire: featuring real weddings, fashion, styling, ideas and inspiration.
I make these lovely framed boards for use as wedding table plans. The inner board is covered in fabric or paper, criss-crossed with ribbon; the frame is usually white and decorated wtih silk flowers. But everything can be made to match your theme - whether you want the fabric to match your bridesmaids' dresses or for the flowers to match those you've chosen for your bouquet. If you have a particular colour or theme in mind, please get in touch to talk bespoke orders. The cost of a bespoke table plan depends on the size and your choice of materials but, as a guide, prices start from a mere £25.
